Corn on the Cob

I'm the girl that watches the pot. I'm definitely the one willing the sprout to break through the surface or using E.S.P. to change the light from red to green. So, when the lovely President Uchtdorf said this morning, "You can't plant a seed in the morning and expect to eat corn on the cob that afternoon," I had to pause. I forget that this life is about more than end results and that the moments between eating corn are actually the most valuable. To be nutritious and sweet, corn needs that precious time to grow. Those super tomatoes in the supermarket that grow in half the time at double the size are beautiful on the outside but entirely bland.

True to form, I ask this question: when do I get to partake of the fruit?

How long will it take for me to ripen on the vine before I get to be a better half?
What am I learning in this time before the harvest that makes all of this patience worth it?

The funny thing is... by asking these questions, it shows that I still have a lot to learn :)
